To begin this piece I wanted to add clouds and make my subject of the piece above the clouds. To do so I added a layer mask and kept the clouds and used a soft brush. I then used another layer mask to add the birds and brought in a galaxy background. 

To keep my theme I decided to add the Texas star and I used another layer mask and a soft brush to add more realism to my piece. I decided not to add anything else to my piece because I wanted it to look like the star was coming out of the clouds to finish it off.
